Alarm Fire Destroys Local Pub

smoke pushes from the Irish Pub. Tower 10 with store front operations.
June
1, 2003. Shortly before 5am, units were dispatched for a report
of smoke coming from the building at 12627 Laurel Bowie Rd. at the Irish
Pub. First arriving crew encounter some smoke showing. E101
advanced an attack line into the building finding fire in the rear.
While operating only minutes, the fire flash sending heavy smoke and flames
out the front windows. Crews were immediately evacuated and a second
alarm was requested. Initially one fire fighter was reported missing,
however he was quickly accounted for. Tower 10 setup for store front
operations knocking down the bulk of the fire. The fire was contained
to the Irish Pub building with smoke and water damage to the businesses
on either side. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
One fire fighter sustained minor burns and was transported to Med Star.
