Early Morning Fire Damages Briarcroft Lane Home

Mar. 4, 2001. Firefighters were alerted at 3:19am Sunday morning for fire coming from the house at 8904 Briarcroft Lane. Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Bayles was first on the scene reporting fire showing from the single story home. He quickly verified all resident escaped safely and directed the operation until the arrival of Laurel Fire Chief Lau. The fire, which apparently started in an attached office spread to part of the living room and attic space. The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes with the majority of the operation being overhaul. Companies cleared the scene around 6:45am.
