July 25, 2001. At 3:27pm, firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire on Irving St. near Fort Meade Rd. (Rt.198). Engine 101 arrived on the scene to find fire coming from the house at 126 Irving St. Crews from Engine 101 and Engine 103 made a quick knock down of the fire. Extensive overhaul was required to ensure all fire was out. Crews from Laurel VFD, Laurel Rescue (49), Beltsville (31), Calverton (41), Maryland City (Anne Arundel Co. 27), Burtonsville (Montgomery Co. 15), and Savage (Howard Co. 6) worked in the over 90 degree heat to contain the blaze.
