
Dec. 24, 2000. Laurel Firefighters were called to 410 Carroll Ave. for smoke in a house early Christmas Eve morning. When Engine 102 arrived on the scene, the crew encountered heavy fire coming from the attic of the wood frame home. Firefighters had to pull the first floor ceilings to access the fire in the attic space. Crews from Laurel, Beltsville, Maryland City and Savage extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes. Crews remained on the scene several hours for extensive overhaul. No injuries were reported.
