Oct. 6, 2000.  Laurel Firefighters along with other companies from Prince George's, Anne Arundel, and Howard Counties responded to reported smoke coming from the building at 200 Fort Meade Road.  First arriving companies found fire showing from the 14th floor of the high rise apartment building.  The crew from Engine 102 quickly knocked down a working kitchen fire in the 14th floor apartment.
