Radio Frequencies

The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department uses the Prince George's County Fire Department's radio system, which is a seven-channel Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) system. Mobile radios are mostly Motorolas while most portable radios are General Electric.

These are Anne Arundel County's old VHF frequencies. Anne Arundel County now uses a trunked 800 MHz system county-wide, and their VHF frequencies are supposed to be patched in to the appropriate channel for units without their 800 MHz system radios (like us). In reality, we find it very difficult to communicate with Anne Arundel County Communications or units.
