100th Anniversary Gala.  LVFD Membership Receives The Firefighter Of The Year Award

October 12, 2002.  As part of the centennial celebration, the Laurel Fire Department held its annual awards banquet as a formal " 100th Anniversary Gala" at Martins Crosswinds in Greenbelt.    The Men's Warehouse (Maryland City) offered members a discount rate for tuxedos.  The membership decided that the coveted "Firefighter Of The Year" award should be given to the entire membership to commemorate 100 years of service.  Normally the award is given by the mayor to an individual that the membership votes to be the most dedicated person in the department.  Click here to read more about our centennial celebration by the Laurel Leader.
