Boot Drive Fund Raiser A Major Success

Firefighter Mike Crotts accepts a donation from a passing motorist

Sept. 29, 2001:  The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department and the Fraternal Order of Police, Laurel Lodge 11  conducted a boot drive fund raiser at the intersection of Cherry Lane and Route 1 and at Route 198 and Route 1.  The event lasted only 3 hours but over $12,000.00 was collected from generous Laurel area motorists.  All proceeds will be given to the American Red Cross to benefit the families of those lost at the World Trade Center and at the Pentagon.  If you missed us on the street, donations can be dropped of at the firehouse (7411 Cherry Lane) or the Police department  (350 Municipal Square) from now until October 19th.  Thank you for your support.
