April 27, 2003.  4 people escaped serious injuries after the vehicles they were riding in collided head-on on Route 1 just south of Contee Road.  Two helicopters were called to the scene to transport the occupants of the car who were the most seriously injured.  All 4 people were transported to hospitals for treatment.
