Crotts Named Fire Fighter Of The Year

October 11, 2003.  Mike Crotts received the Fire Fighter Of The Year Award at LVFD's annual awards banquet.  Crotts, a Life Member (25 years) of the LVFD was voted by the membership as fire fighter of the year for his outstanding and continued contributions to the community and the department.  Through his years with LVFD, he has developed one of the best fire safety programs in the area, teaching children as well as adults how to be safe and survive fire and other emergencies.  He has created Hector The Fire Safety Clown as the main character of his fire safety team.  Known throughout the state, Crotts and his team spread the fire safety message in parades, fire department open houses and local schools.  Crotts and the fire safety team will be in action at LVFD's Open House October 19 beginning at 12 noon.
