Christmas Eve 2005

Photos by Sgt. Chris Stanton

December 24, 2005.   'Twas the night before Christmas, and a joyful one for the Saturday night crew. On the eve of a very busy trip across the globe, Santa Clause landed his sleigh in McCullough field for a visit to Laurel. He was picked up by Engine 104 and taken to the home of Marian and John Nicholson (members of fire department and auxiliary) where Santa has visited on every Christmas Eve since 1980. Then Engine 104 took Santa across town, spreading Christmas cheer from Bowie Road through Main Street and old Laurel, and then a quick stop in west Laurel, before he boarded back up in his sleigh. With Rudolph in the lead, and laying his finger aside of his nose, giving a nod, up into the chilly Laurel night he rose. As the crew went in quarters, we thought we head him exclaim, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
