Mar. 17, 2001.  Laurel Firefighters spent the day on Saturday participating in a live fire exercise.  The "house burning" took place next door to the firehouse in a vacan house that was scheduled for demolition.  The house, which was vacant for several years, was to be torn down to make way for a new housing development.
