New Floor For The Engine Room

Fire House Floors Incorporated installed the new floor covering.  The process, which begins by grinding the top layer of the original concrete floor off, uses several coats of epoxy based sealants and paints to give it a shiny clean appearance.  Sand was also added to the mix to prevent slipping.  As seen in the picture above, a Maltese cross with the company's number was painted on the floor.  By Monday June 5th the floor was cured so that the apparatus could be put back in the station.  During the ten days of curing, the engines and tower sat on the back ramp.  While this was an inconvenience, getting this new floor was well worth it.
