LVFD Holds Annual Fire Safety Open House

October 19, 2003:  LVFD held its annual fire safety open house today with hundreds of local residents visiting the firehouse.  LVFD's open house is geared toward teaching children as well as adults the essentials of fire and home safety.  Included in this year's program:  A cooking fire demonstration, Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute's sprinkler trailer, auto extrication demonstration by Squad 14 (Berwyn Heights), stop drop and roll practice, Hector the Fire Safety Clown, finger printing of children, Laurel Police K9 and several other safety related exhibits.  Guests also got to see LVFD members responding to calls.  LVFD responded to 2 calls during the open house.
