A Torpedo Heater is used to thaw out E102 between calls (notice the ice
on the rear hose lays). Right. A City of Laurel front end loader

February 19,
2003. What was billed as one of the top five all time biggest
snow storms in the central Maryland area kept Laurel Fire Fighters busy
Friday night through Tuesday (Feb. 14 - 17). Snow began to fall on
Friday night accumulating close to 6 inches by Saturday morning.
The second wave of snow began early Sunday morning through Monday evening.
Accumulation in the Laurel Area was about 2 feet. From Friday night
until Monday night, LVFD had at least 3 crews the entire time. While
Engine 103 was out for maintenance, Engines 101 and 102 as well as Tower
10 were fully staffed throughout the snow event. During the period,
the crews ran 43 calls. 5 calls Friday evening, 10 on Saturday, 10
on Sunday and 18 on Monday. Click on the link below for photos of
this major snow event.
