Just after 0700 hours, E810, A849, and MD810 responded to a call for an employee hit by machinery. E810 arrived onscene to find a priority one patient who was apparently struck by the door of an industrial trash compactor and thrown 5 - 10 feet. The patient was approximately 65 years old and the initial assessment showed her to be breathing and with a pulse, but with a serious head injury and bi-lateral leg inujries ( open tibia / fibula injury ). MD810 transported with E810 and A849 onboard; patient was delivered to PGTC breathing, with a strong O2 Sat, bleeding controlled, and BP stabilized.
