February 24, 2003. During the Monday night Laurel City Council meeting, the 2003 officers of the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department took their oath of office. Lead by City Mayor and LVFD life member Craig Moe, the officers raised their right hands and repeated the oath. Every year the mayor and council certify the fire departments' officers at a regular council meeting.
Also during the meeting, past LVFD President Jimmy Collins presented the Mayor and Council the company's 100th anniversary commemorative book. The "year book" style hard covered book follows the departments journey through its 100 years as the fire department of Laurel.
