For the Past 4 years, the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department under the
direction of Craig A. Moe and Lou Luber, Co-Chairs of the Holiday
decorations committee, along with several members have been lighting up
the outside of the firehouse for the holiday season. What started as
just lights outlining the bay doors and a pine tree out front, has
turned into a major display of lights throughout the firehouse's front
and side yards along with two sides of the building. This year, you'll find reindeer
grazing in the side yard, Santa and his sleigh in the front yard, and lots of icicles hanging from the roof of the station.
Each year with donations from the members and several citizens we have been able to
add to the display, without cost to the taxpayers. The display is
the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Membership's way of saying thanks
to the community for all of their support for the past year.
The department also collects can goods and cash donations from November 25th
thru December 23rd. These donations are used for our Community Support Fund, in which
all items collected go to needy families in the Laurel Community.
LVFD's photographer Amy Moore has supplied a few pictures to give you an
idea our holiday wonderland.
Remember, you can always drive by and see it live. We are located
at the intersection of Cherry Lane and Van Dusen Road in Laurel Md.
